Who We Are?

What does CCAN do?

- Our mission is to increase the awareness of carcinoid cancer. Our hope is to help save lives!

- We respond to phone and internet inquiries from people who are referred to us from around the country and around the world. We also field requests resulting from our public awareness activities.

- CCAN distributes literature about carcinoid cancer through many channels.

- We distribute desktop rulers to doctors’ offices. The front says ‘CARCINOID- Don’t RULE IT OUT! The back lists symptoms of carcinoid cancer.

- CCAN organizes seminars by carcinoid experts on a regional and national basis.Since 2004 CCAN has brought several of the leading CarcinoidCancer experts to speak in LI NY. We also particapatied since 2004 at the National conferences held around the country.

- CCAN has had exhibits and booths at medical conferences such as the ASCO 2006,2007, The Digestive Diesease week 2007 and street fairs across the country.

- 2007 CCAN presented brought three regional confereces across the country and the first Telephone - Web conference.

- Fundraising activities like our annual dinner dance, and golf outings.

- We contribute to medical research groups and to other carcinoid organizations- like The Carcinoid Cancer Foundation, the 5HTP PET scan project at New York Presbyterian Hospital in NYC, our sponsorship of the Hurricane Katrina LSU Neuroendocrine Lab Replacement Fundraising Drive , The Feinstein Institue of Medical Research for their Pet Scan project, and The Doctors Cancer Foundation.

- We distribute premium items, like stuffed zebras, zebra striped carcinoid cancer awareness bracelets, lapel pins, etc. We have given out and sold 75,000 bracelets so far.-

These activities will continue until carcinoid cancer is CURED!
